I looked up and realized Mikayla was waiting for an explanation. So, I handed her my phone and she read the texts.

We spent the day getting more stuff packed and having our girl talk time. We only stopped working to go get something to eat.
Mikayla said, “How about we call the Pizza Shack and order some hot wings for lunch? We can pick them up and see if Jacki can meet us for a girl picnic at the park.”
I hugged her and agreed, “That sounds perfect!”
Mikayla called and placed our order while I texted Jacki to see if she could meet us at the park. We grabbed our purses and headed out.
I heard a ting and knew I just got a text. It was Jacki, she was meeting us at the park. Yay, sista time! Mikayla grabbed our order and we headed to the park. Just as soon as we sat up our picnic, Jacki’s truck pulled in and parked next to Mikayla’s car.
We ate and talked until the sunset. I couldn’t believe in only 55 days we would all be moving into our dorm rooms! Mikayla took me home and Jacki headed home.
I talked to Mom when I got home and then I climbed into a big bubble bath and thought about everything on my mind…. In the morning, I would go to the gynecologist and get birth control. I was still in shock that Chase wanted to go with me! I shook my head in disbelief of how wonderful my life was… I got out of the tub and slipped into some comfy jammies and headed to bed to dream of what would happen next.
I didn’t take time to write in my journal, I was exhausted.
Chapter 13
I woke up to my alarm beeping. I jumped out of bed and brushed my teeth and fixed my hair and make-up. Then I headed to the kitchen to eat some cereal for breakfast. I ate and put my dishes in the dishwasher and went back to my room to get dressed.
Mom popped in my room after I was dressed and asked, “What are your plans for the day?”
I told her, “I am going on a weekend adventure with Chase.”
She asked me, “How serious are you two?”
I explained, “Oh Mom, we are in love and want to see where our future takes us, together.”
She told me, “Make sure you are careful.”
That’s Mom talk for if you have sex, be safe. I smiled and said, “I will, Mom.”
I decided not to tell her about going to the gynecologist with Chase today. I would tell her after Chase and I have been together for a long time. No need to stress Mom out yet! Chase pulled in the driveway and knocked on the front door. Mom greeted Chase at the front door and let him in the house.

She said she was happy to hear we were being so responsible and that Chase was with me at my appointment.
She performed the exam and told me I could get dressed and pick- up the prescription paper and some free samples at the checkout desk. I thanked her, then she left the room.
