  Dad said, “Mom is waiting on these, Roxi, take them to her to cook please.” I grabbed the fish fillets and took them into Mom, knowing Dad was going to question Chase about his motives and expectations of his new girlfriend. It was Dad’s duty, so I didn’t interfere.

  Mom added our fish fillets to the ones she had unthawed from the freezer and got to work breading and seasoning them and added them to the frying pan. I helped make the hush puppies and American fries and tossed together a nice salad.

  Chase and Dad came in for dinner and Chase smiled and winked at me. I knew he had Dad wrapped around his finger, or the stamp of approval if you will. I smiled and winked back.

  I gotta say holding hands under the dinner table felt super-hot with Chase!

  We finished dinner, Chase helped Mom with dishes and I went to the living room with Dad. He said, “Chase is a nice young man, but to let him know if he crosses any lines.”

  Chapter 6

  I was really excited about our weekend camping trip! The girls asked their guys to go, so it was a triple date! We each had our own tents and it was gonna be perfect. I called Jacki and Mikayla and talked through our plans and we were all very excited for our weekend away! This weekend camping adventure was our version of a Senior Trip.

  That Friday we packed for our weekend camping trip! I started getting organized days ahead of time and made sure I had everything ready.   At last, we found our campsite and had begun setting up the tent. As we got the last pole set, Jacki and Chris pulled in and started unloading. Just after Jacki picked the place to set their tent up, Mikayla and Conner pulled in. I started smiling as I sat up our bed. Oh my, “our bed” I blushed just thinking about sleeping with Chase. I hoped sleeping wouldn’t be all we did that night….

  Jacki walked up to me and asked, “What are you smiling about?” I blushed again.

After almost eleven minutes of stacking and re-positioning, the fire finally caught the firewood and kindling on fire. At last, they got the fire blazing and the guys joined us to visit.

  As I looked up at the stars and held Chase’s hand, just thinking this had to be Heaven on Earth. Conner finished another love song and put up his guitar and we all went to our tents for the night.<

The guys did a great job of getting the fire ready to cook on. We had Brats and baked potatoes for dinner that night.

  After dinner, we all took turns and went up to take showers. First, the ladies went together to the showers and then the guys each went by themselves. I was in the shower, daydreaming what my night would be like when Mikayla asked, “How was your night?”
