That sounded beautiful, so we asked Chase, “Can we go to your Grandparent’s campground to look at the stars?”

  Of course, he said yes. We knew what we would do after dinner. Though, I hoped we got enough time to do more than just star exploring tonight….

I was full of anticipation, just waiting for him to take me again.

  He didn’t make me wait long, as soon as the taillights were out of view, he started undressing me and caressing me and loving me and we rolled around on that blanket loving each other for over an hour. This was a life-changing moment for me, I realized I wanted to not only marry him but to have a houseful of his babies… He noticed my sudden quietness and asked if I was okay.

  I giggled, “Yes, reality just hit me. I know I want to marry you AND have your babies!”

  He grabbed me and kissed me and then said, “I want to marry you and put those babies in your belly too!”

  What 18-year-old finds and meets their soul mate and falls this madly in love this fast? Okay, Jacki and Mikayla found their true loves at 18 and 16 so I guess anything was possible!

  We decided we should call it a night, grabbed the blanket and climbed onto the 4-wheeler and headed back to my car. This had been another dreamy night, even without including the meteor shower!

  I got home and decided to write in my journal….

  Starry night, dreams do come true!

  Then I got cleaned up and climbed into my bed and no sooner than my head hit my pillow, I was off to dreamland…

  We only had 41 days left but I hope every one of them was as magical as tonight.

  Chapter 26

  It was a brand-new day! I brushed my teeth and got dressed and checked my phone, my normal routine.

  Chase texted and said: “Let’s spend the whole day wrapped in each other’s arms… XOXO, Chase”

  I sent him a stack of hearts and said: “Come get me, I’m all yours.”

  About 15 minutes later I heard a knock at the door, I ran to open it and saw Chase and those beautiful dimples on the other side. He grabbed me around my waist and pulled me toward him and gave me a kiss good morning. This day was off to a super wonderful start! I didn’t even care where we were going, I quickly wrote my Mom a note, grabbed my purse and we were off!

  Chase said he had two plans for the day. Part 1 was alone time with me in his room and part 2 was a romantic sunset walk by the river and into the woods to someplace he said has the best views… I would follow him anywhere.

  We walked inside his house, he said his parents and sisters were all gone on the softball tournament for his younger sister Celina. He said Carolina, his big sister was his little sister’s biggest fan. I thought it was sweet that they all supported each other and traveled for the games, and as a bonus, we got alone time because Chase stayed home to work his shifts at the pool!

I asked him how he found such a beautiful destination and he said he had a mushroom picking spot just down the path a way down from where we were. I didn’t know anyone else who liked wild mushrooms like my family did!

  After dinner, I leaned on Chase and we watched the sunset wrapped up in each other’s arms. I swore there was no other place on Earth I would want to be in that moment than right where I was right then. I felt so blessed.

  Only 40 days left in our perfect bubble but I was excited to see where life took us after that! I giggled as I pictured me raising babies and ravishing Chase years down the road….

  Chase asked, “Roxi, what are you thinking about?”

  My reply was, “You and babies and our future and how happy we will be as long as we are together.”

  Chase agreed, “You read my mind…” Then he kissed me. I melted.

  He picked up the picnic basket and brought out a single red rose. He handed it to me, with a card that said, “My promise…”

  “My promise”

  I, Chase Daniel Walker, promise to love you, Roxi Ann Roberts, for all the days of my life. I know now that I want to live with you for the rest of my life. Every day God gives me, I will do my best to make sure you know that you are beautiful and loved and perfect the way you are. I am the luckiest man in the world because I get to spend my life with you. You will never go to bed or wake up without knowing that I love you and will love you my entire life. You are my one true love, my soul mate, and I will love you for the rest of my days and in heaven too.”

  I looked up after reading that heartfelt promise and I was smiling with emotional tears that flowed down my cheeks and Chase gently wiped them off as I climbed onto his lap. I kissed him like his kiss was the only oxygen I could use like there was no tomorrow like I need him more than I need air. In that moment, my life was absolutely perfect.

  “I love you Chase!”

  “I love you, Roxi!”

  And at that exact moment, I know it to be true, both of us needed the other one for life. This was the love that you read about and saw in the movies, but it was better because it was real love, not a script someone reads!

  We gathered our picnic supplies, the rose, and the poem and walked hand in hand back to the car. I felt like I was walking on clouds. I couldn’t be any happier.

  Chase drove me home. I didn’t want to go home but after the day of lovemaking and beautiful sunsets, I knew I needed to go home and I would have the sweetest dreams….

  Chase walked me to the door and we kissed goodnight. I shut the door and peered out the window to watch his car drive away until I couldn’t see the tail lights anymore. I grabbed a vase for my rose, added some water to it before I scurried off to my room. I put the rose on my dresser and lay the sweet poem, “The Promise” by the rose and started my shower.

  Mom was in my room dropping a load of clean laundry on my bed. She had tears coming down her cheek.

  I asked, “Mom are you okay?”

  She said, “Roxi I didn’t mean to snoop, but that love note is the sweetest thing I have ever read! It sounds like wedding vows! This man is madly in love with you! Come hug me!”

  I agreed, “Yes he is the best, and I left it out, not like you had to dig around to find it… I love him with all my heart. I am going to marry him and have babies with him and grow old and rock in rocking chairs with him. I feel it in my soul.”

  We continued hugging and Dad walked by, “Are my girls okay?”

  We answered in unison, “Yeah Dad, we are perfect.”

  Dad continued down the hall to their room and Mom followed him. I knew she was going to tell Dad but I didn’t care. I loved Chase, he loved me.

  I grabbed my journal and slipped “The Promise” inside. Then I climbed in bed and started those sweet-sweet dreams…

  I dreamt about our future house with a cute garden. It had a nice backyard with a swing set and a playhouse and a couple of kids running around blowing bubbles and giggling. I was sitting in a double rocking chair with Chase and we were rocking a baby to sleep while we watched our other kids play.

  Chapter 27

  I woke up smiling. I couldn’t stop smiling. That was the best dream ever, and I believed it would be my reality after I finished college!

  I was getting ready for the day and I heard my phone ting, a few times in a row.

  I reached for my phone, 3 messages from Chase. I smiled and wondered if he had as sweet of dreams as I did…

  Chase said: “Good morning beautiful, wish we woke up together.”

  “I miss you, can you come over?”

  “I work 12 to 6 today. All my love, Chase”

  I replied: “Be there in 15! Love, your Roxi.”

  I grabbed my purse and keys and a granola bar and bottle of water and headed out. I got to Chase’s house and noticed his Mom’s car was still home but it was running. I knocked on the front door and his little sister, Celina, answered the door. She smiled and waved me in and then yelled, “Chase your girlfriend is here!”

  Chase walked down the hallway to greet me. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek and I saw his Mom and Celina grabbing purses and bags. His Mom kissed him on the forehead and said, “See you after work and Celina’s softball practice.”

  Chase answered, “I work until 6.”

  His Mom answered as she walked out the door, “Perfect, see you later tonight.” Just like that, we were home alone….

  Now, what do two young lovebirds do when they are home alone? They watched a romantic comedy and enjoyed a make-out on the couch. Then, they moved it to the bedroom when it got too steamy for the living room in the early morning light. We only had a few hours before he had to go to work, but we made the most of it!

  While we were naked and cuddling in his bed, I decided to tell him about my dream. He had a goofy smile, a really cheesy one after I told him all about it.

  Then he asked, “Want to hear about mine?”

  I squealed with delight, “Yes!!”

  He explained, “In my dream, we were getting married, then it fast-forwarded and you were pregnant with our first baby, we had a house with rocking chairs on the front porch and we were so happy…”

  I grabbed his face and planted on a big kiss. I couldn’t be happier than how I felt at that exact moment. We didn’t need words to explain this to each other, we knew how much love we shared for each other and how bright of a future we would have together.

  I reached under the covers and found he was saluting me. I rode him like any good cowgirl would ride a cowboy. Who needs a horse? It was quick and satisfying enough to hold me over for a little while.

  It was time for Chase to go to work. I kissed him one last time and he walked me to my car. What a way to start the day!

  I looked at my phone and I missed texts from Mikayla and Jacki. Jacki wanted to meet for lunch and I called her and we decided to meet at the café. Mikayla wanted to have girl time after dinner and watch movies at my house. I made all the arrangements and headed to the café.

  Jacki was already inside the café when I got there and she already ordered me a sweet tea. We decided to share a turkey club sandwich and side of fries. I liked to share my meals, then there were no leftovers! We talked and caught up like we hadn’t seen each other in months. We had both been spending more time with our lovers than our BFFs, so this was a very nice change of pace.

  Jacki said she loved my blush color and I replied that Chase gave it to me. Then I giggled and she asked if I even had make-up on… I did not have anything except chapstick on. I told her about my rendezvous and “My Promise” and my sweet dreams. She told me all about her experiences with Chris. I thought to myself, I was actually fully satisfied for the first time in my life…. I had the best boyfriend and the BEST best friends in the world. My world was complete.

  I couldn’t believe we were down to 39 more days before everything changed and we moved to college.
r />   Jacki told me more about her Photography college and the classes she was signed up for. She was so excited and I was so happy for her. She was already ridiculously talented and I couldn’t wait to see what her photos looked like after these cool classes she was so excited to complete.

  We talked for over an hour at the café. What was it about this place? I completely lost track of time there. I told her about the plans to watch chick flicks at my house and she said she couldn’t come because she had a date planned with Chris.

  I got a text from Chase: “Do you have dinner plans?”

  I replied: “Eating with parents and chick flick with Mikayla afterward. You can come to eat with us on your way home from the pool.”

  He texted back: “Sounds great, see you at 6:10 XOXO, Chase”

  Jacki and I paid for lunch and headed to our cars. It was nice to catch up, we hugged and headed out on our way.

  I got home and went straight to the kitchen so I could see what Mom had in the fridge. I found chicken breast, all the fixings for a nice salad, then in the pantry, I found red potatoes and green beans and a yellow cake mix with a tub of chocolate icing. I started on the cake so it would have time to cool before dinner and I could get it iced with chocolate icing. Let’s see how Chase reacts to chocolate, and if it makes him smile as it did me…. I decided to make homemade chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, and green beans with a nice side salad. I figured I should help Mom and Dad out by cooking since I did invite my future hubby and BFF over tonight to join us.

  I was about 90% done with dinner and I had the cake iced and chilling in the fridge when I heard the garage door open. Mom was home! She walked in and immediately smiled. I knew the house smelled yummy and she appreciated my meal planning.

  Mom hugged me and thanked me as she walked into the kitchen. She asked why I was working on all the delicious smelling food. I told her that Mikayla was coming over after dinner to watch movies and Chase would be here for dinner with us tonight.
